Welcome to Year 1 September 2020
Welcome to the Year 1 class page!
Although this half term running up to Christmas is going to look very different from previous years, we are planning lots of exciting, fun activities for the children to do!
This half term the children will have PE on a Tuesday with Hayley and Dance on a Thursday with Millie. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, children will be required to leave their PE kit in school for the full half term. Please put their kit in a clearly labelled plastic bag.
Teaching your child is a team effort and children benefit greatly from additional support from home. You can support your child by helping them to complete homework, spellings and by listening to them read daily.
It is really important that you read with your child as often as possible. Reading books will be sent home and must be returned to school each day in the plastic wallet provided. The children will be heard read once a week and then their book will be changed. Please complete the reading record diary to show your child has read their book and is ready for a new one. Please bring reading books to school everyday.
For this half term, homework will be set via Seesaw on Wednesday and will include reading, spellings, Numbots and Lexia. Please complete all homework by the following Monday.
Please continue to send a healthy snack to school for your child. Alternatively, fruit is always available in class.
If you have any concerns or information you want to share with us, please send a message on Seesaw or Dojo and we will reply as soon as possible.
Thank you for your continued support.
