Year 1
Welcome to the Year 1 class page!
We can’t believe it is our last half term in Year 1! Where has this year gone! We have lots of exciting plans ahead, including a summer walk along the canal.
This half term the children will have Dance on a Wednesday.
Teaching your child is a team effort and children benefit greatly from additional support from home. You can support your child by helping them to complete homework and by listening to them read daily.
It is really important that you read with your child as often as possible. Reading books will be sent home and must be returned to school each day in the plastic wallet provided. The children will be heard read once a week and then their book will be changed. Please complete the reading record diary to show your child has read their book and is ready for a new one. Please bring reading books to school everyday.
For this half term, homework will be set on Wednesday and will include reading, , Numbots and Lexia. Please complete all homework by the following Monday.
Please continue to send a healthy snack to school for your child. Alternatively, fruit is always available in class.
If you have any concerns or information you want to share with us, please send a message on Seesaw and we will reply as soon as possible.
Thank you for your continued support.
