Talk For Writing
Welcome to Year 1 September 2020
Welcome to the Year 1 class page!
We can't believe it is our last term in Year 1! Where has the year gone!
We have lots of exciting plans ahead, including a Spring walk along the canal and a trip to St George's Church.
This term we will be learning about plants and continuing our work on Seasons.
This half term the children will have PE on a Tuesday with Hayley and Zumba with Millie on a Wednesday. Please ensure your child has P.E. kit (shorts, t-shirt and pumps) on these days.
Teaching your child is a team effort and children benefit greatly from additional support from home. You can support your child by helping them to complete homework, spellings and by listening to them read daily.
It is really important that you read with your child as often as possible. Reading books will be sent home and must be returned to school each day in the plastic wallet provided. The children will be heard read once a week and then their book will be changed. Please complete the reading record diary to show your child has read their book and is ready for a new one. Please bring reading books to school everyday.
For this half term, homework will be set via Seesaw on Wednesday and will include reading, Numbots and Lexia. Please complete all homework by the following Monday.
Please continue to send a healthy snack to school for your child. Alternatively, fruit is always available in class.
If you have any concerns or information you want to share with us, please send a message on Seesaw or Dojo and we will reply as soon as possible.
Thank you for your continued support.
