SEND
We are proud to be an inclusive school where every child is unique and valued. Through our comprehensive approach to SEND, we strive to provide a secure, caring and happy environment in which all children can experience success and enjoyment. Our commitment and inclusive ethos has recently been recognised through the achievement of the SENDIA (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Inclusion award) December 2021.
Our dedication to meet all children's individual needs helps us to maximize every child's inclusion in all aspects of school life. We believe in equal opportunities for all, where everyone is treated with respect, dignity and is equally valued. We value and honour the views of our children and their families and provide opportunities for them to influence change and to be fully involved in the decision making process.
Our SENDCO, Miss Sarah Jarman works together with class teachers to provide support across our school. Miss Jarman is also supported by Mrs Taylor, our Pastoral Manager and a number of other experienced SEND staff.
Below is more detail about how we provide for children with special educational needs. Please take some time to read through it and if you have any further queries please contact Miss Jarman on 01457 832128 or via email on admin@micklehurstallsaints.tameside.sch.uk. For specific concerns about your child please contact your class teacher in the first instance.
As part of the changes implemented by the DfE in 2014 all Local Authorities must publish information about how they support special needs pupils. This is called the "Local Offer". Schools must also publish information on their website about how they support SEND children within their own establishment.
