Early Years Foundation Stage
Intent, Implementation and Impact
At Micklehurst All Saints CE Primary School our Early Years Foundation Stage consists of a Nursery class with 26 places and a Reception class with 30 places.
Staff in school strive for all children to succeed and become confident and independent learners. Through high quality teaching we ensure that all children learn and develop well and are kept healthy and safe. We believe that working in partnership with parents and carers is key and we value the contribution they make. We build on children’s prior learning and starting points as well as their experiences at home.
Our curriculum is built around high quality fiction and non-fiction texts which link to a variety of themes and help children to learn and develop the skills and knowledge set out in the EYFS Framework. The children have access to high quality indoor and outdoor provision in which to apply these skills independently and a balance of adult and child led activities also supports their development in the Characteristics of Effective learning.
