Dear Parents/Carers,

Welcome to our Year 4 page. The year 4 children are taught by Mrs Gorton and Mr Hobday and are supported by Mrs Distin-Webster. We will be posting photographs and examples of our work throughout the year so please keep checking our class page and remember to sign up for our class blog.

Uniform
We feel that school uniform gives a sense of belonging and by dressing correctly, pupils can demonstrate their pride in their school.

Our school uniform is:
Trousers – black, grey or navy
Polo/cotton shirt – white, pale blue or navy with or without school logo
Skirt/pinafore – grey, black or navy
Sweatshirt/jumper – plain navy, with or without school logo
Cardigan – plain navy, with or without school logo
Fleece – plain navy, with or without school logo

We also ask that children have suitable shoes for school and not trainers.

P.E.
This term the children will have P.E. on Tuesday with Jeff, our sports coach and on Thursday with the teacher. Children must wear white t-shirts and black or navy shorts. Pumps  or bare feet are required for indoor P.E and trainers for outdoor activities.

Equipment
All equipment is provided by school and we would prefer it if children did not bring their own pencils and pencil cases, however, a water bottle would be very useful to your child in order for them to access a drink throughout the school day.

Homework
Homework will be given out to the children on Wednesday and should be completed by the following Monday. It is important that the children bring their homework book on that day and bring their reading record and their reading book to school every day. It is really important that you read with your child as often as possible.  Reading books are changed regularly.  Please complete the reading record diary to show your child has read their book and is ready for a new one.

Homework club is available for children who struggle to complete their homework on time.

Snack

Children should bring a healthy snack for playtime or alternatively can buy snacks from the school shop. We recommend 10p-30p per day.

If you need to speak to Mrs Gorton or Mr Hobday, we are always available from 8.30 am or at the end of the school day - for a more formal appointment please contact school.

Many thanks for your continued support,

Mrs Gorton, Mr Hobday and Mrs Distin-Webster
