Welcome to the Year 3 page.
This year, Class 3 will be taught by Miss Hamlett and supported by Miss Hulmes and Mrs Tilley If you have any concerns or information which you wish to share with us, we are usually available every morning before school from 8.30 am or most afternoons straight after school when you collect your child
We have a busy and fun year ahead of us in Year 3, with lots of exciting topics to look forward to. Our topic during the Autumn term will be Spartacus. This is related to our new Commando Joe curriculum which is related to lots of different areas of the curriculum. The children will be carrying out a variety of missions where they will be able to develop a numbers of skills such as self-awareness, communication skills, thinking skills, cooperative behavior and resilience.
In our Science lessons we will be looking at Lights and Shadows. We will be learning about light and dark, different light sources, shadows and reflections.
Seesaw and Dojo
This year we will using Seesaw, which is the class blog and Dojo team points, which is used to see how many Dojo points your child receives in class each day. You will be able to get an insight into all the exciting activities your children has been up to in school.
We feel that school uniform gives a sense of belonging and by dressing correctly, pupils can demonstrate their pride in their school.
Our school uniform is:
School Trousers– black, grey or navy (not jogging bottoms)
Polo/cotton shirt – pale blue with or without school logo
Skirt/pinafore – grey, black or navy
Sweatshirt/jumper – plain navy, with or without school logo
Cardigan – plain navy, with or without school logo
We also ask that children have black suitable shoes for school and not trainers.
This half term PE will be on Wednesday and Friday. Please make sure your children brings:
• A plain white T-shirt or a school logo white t-shirt.
• Navy blue shorts
• White ankle socks for girls and grey, navy blue or black socks for boys
• Trainers or pumps that fit correctly.
Please make sure your child has the appropriate kit for these days.
Each week Miss Hulmes, Mrs Tilley and I will choose one child who will be Star of the Week in Year 3. We will be looking for children who try their best at everything they do and who are kind and helpful to other children and adults in the school.
In Year 3 we have a class teddy named ‘Bamboo’. Bamboo will go home over the weekend with a member of the class who has impressed Miss Hulmes, Mrs Tilley and I all week
Homework and Reading
Please listen to your child read as often as possible and ensure their reading diary and book comes into school every day. Homework is sent home on a Wednesday and is due back the following Monday at the latest. Children will earn team points for work handed in before the deadline.
We look forward to meeting you all.
